Heritage of Health – Erasmus+ Exchange Week at the Schengen-Lyzeum
From 3 to 7 November 2025, the Schengen-Lyzeum Perl welcomed students and teachers from partner schools in Estonia, Finland, Italy, Norway, and Spain for the first Erasmus+ exchange of the two-year project “Heritage of Health: Sport, Wellbeing and Nutrition Across Europe.”
The programme combined sport, culture, health, and European cooperation — showing that movement and wellbeing can connect people across borders.
The week began with a welcome ceremony in the school auditorium, where students got to know each other through warm-up games and group activities before designing the project logo together. A hike through the tri-border region of Luxembourg, Germany, and France gave participants a first-hand experience of European openness and nature.
On Tuesday, the focus was on urban sports: at BlocX Esch/Alzette, students tried bouldering, parkour, and ninja warrior challenges — encouraging teamwork and motivation in English.
The middle of the week led the group to Metz, where they explored the local market and visited the Centre Pompidou Museum, discussing how art, food, and culture reflect wellbeing and happiness.
Thursday took the group to Luxembourg City, where students took part in an interactive role play at the European Institutions in Kirchberg, learning how European cooperation can promote healthy lifestyles and common values. The evening ended with a lively farewell party at the school — full of music, dance, and shared memories.
On Friday, a Tai Chi workshop offered a calm and mindful closing activity before everyone reflected on the week’s experiences in mixed groups.
Throughout the week, students documented their experiences capturing moments of friendship, learning, and intercultural exchange.
The Erasmus+ week at the Schengen-Lyzeum Perl once again proved that learning, sport, and culture go hand in hand — and that health and wellbeing are part of our common European heritage.
