Erasmus+ Exchange in Poland - Another week of Sustainability and Friendship
Five students from Year 10 took part in the fourth project meeting of the Erasmus+ "Ecology and Sustainability Across Cultures" project in Lębork, Poland from the 13th to 18th of october 2025.
The programme combined school activities, workshops and excursions, and offered many opportunities to learn about sustainability and intercultural cooperation. The detailed programme is attached .
At the beginning of the week, the group received a warm welcome at the host school. They met their Polish partners and participated in lessons together. This provided a good insight into the Polish school system and daily school life. Staying with host families allowed the students to experience the culture directly and to improve their communication skills in English.
A central focus of the mobility was sustainability. The students visited a farm and learned about sustainable agriculture and the European potato industry. They also took part in workshops on environmental protection and recycling, for example during a visit to the “Clean Energy Port”. These activities helped them understand the importance of responsible resource use and sustainable development.
One highlight of the programme was the excursion to the Słowiński National Park. There, the students explored the sand dunes and the Baltic Sea and learned about the importance of protecting natural environments and biodiversity.
The visit to the city of Gdańsk added a strong European perspective. The group explored historical sites and visited the European Solidarity Centre, where they learned more about European history, democracy and cooperation.
Throughout the week, the students worked closely with their Polish partners. Communication in English improved their language skills and confidence. At the same time, they developed intercultural competences and built new friendships.
Overall, the mobility was a very positive and enriching experience. The students gained valuable knowledge about sustainability and developed important personal and social skills. The Erasmus+ project showed how meaningful international exchange can be and how much can be learned through practical experiences.
